PILATES
After each session, my aim is to have you feeling refreshed and centered. I strive to assist you in reaching your fitness goals during your Pilates practice and hope to make Pilates a part of your ongoing healthy lifestyle.
I offer peace and quiet during your practice with exception to the relaxing music of Pilates, so you are able to focus and concentrate without being distracted by other trainers or participants in the room.
Beginners are encouraged and more than welcome! You can always attend one of my Beginners classes on a Monday or Thursday evening at The Elgar Centre, High Street, Upton, Northampton. Pre-booking is essential.
Pilates is for anyone that is interested in increasing their overall wellness by strengthening and toning their muscles, gaining more flexibility in their body, and utilizing breathing as a means for focus and concentration to reduce stress, anxiety, blood pressure or tension.
The Pilates method of body conditioning is a unique system of full body stretching and strengthening exercises developed over ninety years ago by Joseph Pilates. It fully integrates the body as a whole to strengthen and tone muscles, improve posture, provide flexibility and balance, unite body and mind, and create a more streamlined shape without adding bulk.
Building from core strength, focusing on proper alignment, and a body/mind integrative approach makes Pilates accessible to all. Additionally there are endless modifications possible to meet individual needs.
One of the best things about the Pilates method is that it works so well for a wide range of people. Athletes and dancers love it, as do seniors, women rebounding from pregnancy, and people who are at various stages of physical rehabilitation.

My two Pilates classes at the Elgar centre have been set up and designed to accommodate beginners and participants who suffer with back problems and/or injury rehabilitation.
